LFW Day 2: Osman

Location: Somerset House
Joanne Black style: Same as Mark Fast – just time for a shoe change into Margiela toe-less ankle boots.

Osman's all-white collection

The collection: For those of you who enjoyed the pale pieces from Osman’s last collection, his latest show was not to be missed. Osman’s Spring/Summer wardrobe brought chic European glamour to LFW. Inspired by a reportage photo of Mrs Simpson – who once wore a white dress to visit President Nixon – his all-white collection (with hints of gold) was pure and elegant, packed with sleek, sculptured pieces. Having teamed up with travel specialists Kuoni, Osman’s collection was designed to take us on a journey, and with use of North African and Japanese influences throughout, he did just that. Osman is one to watch for the future.

The wish list: It was so good, I wanted to walk away with the whole collection.
The style:My friend Yara – together with Katya Russian Editor of Shopping Guide – stood out from the fashionista crowd with their striking red outfits. I also loved actress Kemi David’s dress, which she designed herself. Who said the talent at LFW was just on the catwalk?

LFW Day 2: Mark Fast

Location: University of Westminster
Joanne Black style:
Martin Margiela A/W 09 dress; Sergio rossi S/S 09 edgy ankle sandals; Patrizia Pepe leather jacket A/W 08 and a Lanvin S/S 09 bag.
The collection:
Knitwear has never looked so good. This collection, themed around cinema (in particular the silent films of the 1920s) and inspired by Julia Roberts in Erin Brockovich, focused on telling the story of courageous women in society. There was certainly something very powerful about his short sexy knit dresses – with Swarovski embellishments. I also love the way he teamed each of his dresses with Christian Louboutin shoes – which the designer had created especially for the show.
The wish list:
Fast’s figure-hugging black and white print dress with a fantastic geometric shape jutting out from the shoulder was fantastic.
The style:
I loved the fact it was 9.30am and girls were dressed up ready for a night on the town – in short dresses and sexy statement ankle boots. My highlight was spotting Christian Louboutin in the front row, fanning himself with a leaflet.
