Naomi Campbell was in top form on Wednesday as host of the Fashion for Relief Haiti charity show. She opened the star-studded event with fellow supermodel Kate Moss and Annabelle Neilson in a dress from the late Alexander McQueen’s last collection. She then took to the runway with Piers Morgan and looked stunning in gold Vivienne Westwood dress – which was later auctioned for £20,000 pounds – before closing the show on the arm of her mother Valerie.

It’s not every day you get to see Ronnie Corbett dancing to Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean, Dame Shirley Bassey and Geri Halliwell strutting their stuff on the runway and model mum and daughter Amber and Yasmin Le Bonn walking together, so I was glad to be up in the front row to catch all the action. I was also delighted to see Sir Philip Green bid £100,000 for the McQueen dress and leather belt Moss wore on the night – a fitting tribute to the fashion designer who died in such tragic circumstances.

I don’t think I’ve seen a more powerful, colourful and tearful start to London Fashion Week. With over  £1million raised for the Haiti relief effort, it was a big show with an even bigger heart.

The Pringle of Scotland collection is a style sensation

The collection: Designer Clare Waight Keller knows how to put on a show. Everything about this collection impressed me – from the neutral colour palette to the short dresses with fab rock ‘n’ roll belts, chunky cable knits and her cool and classic combinations. I was also excited to see Anna Wintour sitting on the front row working her blackberry – and those statement black shades. What a legend!
The wish list: I’ve got my eye on the collection’s fab short grey sexy dress.
The style: Tilda Swinton deserves a mention for her chic and elegant white trouser suit and her fantastic short crop hairstyle.

LFW Day 4: Twenty8twelve

Location: Howick Place, SW1
Joanne Black style: same as Pringle

The collection: Sienna and Savannah Miller’s Houngonikon-themed collection was a heady mix of sexy lycra dresses, swimsuits, mini skirts, cropped vests and 80s style jumpsuits – all worn with hairbands. It was a show with as many cultural references as there were outfits, but with such a wonderful warehouse setting, this event was not to be missed.
The wish list: The black and white vest body top would look great in my wardrobe.
The style: As the last to arrive and first to leave, the show – and its audience – went by in a bit of a blur. I did, however, love the music by Jim Morrison.

London Fashion Week

London Fashion Week is back, and it’s bigger, brighter and better than ever. This is a week dedicated to fabulous advanced previews, stunning collections and inspired fashion – both on and off the catwalk. Fashionistas go to Paris for chic and they come to London for edgy street fashion. With Spring/Summer 2010 collections from everyone including Betty Jackson, Vivienne Westwood, Osman, and up-and-coming designers from St Martin’s Lane College, London Fashion Week has enough statement pieces to fill my own wardrobe – and those of  my clients – many times over. Let’s take a look around…

Naomi Campbell takes LFW by storm

The collection: Why is it after so many years on the catwalk Naomi Campbell still has the best legs in the business? Opening designer Daniella Issa Helayel’s Sunday evening show to thunderous applause, Campbell oozed style in a white sequined swimsuit. Issa describes her work as ‘practical, fluid and chic’, and with a tropical storm themed show – covering everything from sexy shorts and satin blouses, to cool trousers and her signature white ant festooned T-shirts – her collection was just that.
The wish list:
I loved the stormy gun-metal, off-the-shoulder, one-arm dress that fell to just above the knee.
The style:
Daisy Lowe stole the show with her short black sexy dress and fab YSL killer hills.
